I began counselling in 1996 and in 2000 I ended my long-term career as a design engineer. For the last few years working as a designer I ran a small project group in the aerospace industry. Since then I have worked as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor, both from my Watford office and from Little Venice in London W2.
I also work in an educational capacity with students studying for their Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy at The Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in Maida Vale. I supervise the client work of 2nd and 3rd year student therapists and work as a facilitator for students during their intensive experiential studies.
In 2001 I finished my 4 year Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling and since then have completed an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling in Transpersonal Psychotherapy. This explored how the very deepest changes happen in people, using models and metaphors drawn from a variety of spiritual traditions. I am now undertaking further formal training in dream work.
I follow the BACP Ethical Framework and am happy to provide evidence of professional training and insurance.
I believe the therapy process benefits from working from a regular diary slot, but I do understand that clients lead busy lives, so flexibility can be discussed. I offer daytime and evening sessions on weekdays and sessions last for 50 minutes for individuals or 65 minutes for couples.
Finding the right practitioner is essential and I'm happy to assist you in that search. If I don't think I am the right person to work with you I will say so and suggest other routes you might try.
